School work has been increasingly tough with grading papers, administering tests, teacher workshops, and parent – teacher conferences. Most of the parents want to discuss football; so, I must steer them back to academics. There are few academic problems at Colorado Sports Academy High School.
Missy Bradford from the Denver paper called and wanted to know my feelings about the championship game being cancelled and Denver football players possibly being suspended. I felt that would make little difference because the opposition was so stocked with great players.
The days leading to the state 5A Football Championship are escalating with excitement and fear amongst the student population, fans, players, cheerleaders, and player parents.
After I gave the nanny instructions, I hurriedly went to our football field for the final championship game.
The next day after the championship game was tumultuous. We had a preschool party for Jake; and then a birthday party with Josh.
Monday morning, I was met with many high fives and fist pumps from faculty, students, and administrators.

My text sounded loudly this morning. I prepared breakfast for the kids and prepared them for school. Josh is performing well in all-day kindergarten; Jake is learning rapidly in preschool; and Jaiden is the nanny’s pet child.
Jaiden came down with a fever and ear pulling today. I need to get him to the pediatrician.
Smitty was over the next day; and we hashed as guys the Alison Maples situation. Smitty foretold something potentially devastating (illness, custody battles, crime, family issues). The entire scenario is weird.
The coaching offers from college and professional ranks are pouring into my life via mail and email.
The basketball team is now divided into varying skill levels. I coach the top 15 players; and that can switch amongst the frosh based on their ability, maturation, and drive.
Dr. Maples and I had a lengthy discussion last night – overdue regarding her disappearance. She is a responsible doctor and girlfriend. I had no idea if Alison Maples was in trouble, went crazy, or had an illness few were aware.
Jaiden’s croup was improving with steroids and albuterol inhalation treatment.
I should not have waited to get our kids enrolled in religious classes. Janae and I had talked about Catholic schools.
The football world is allover myself with offers, gossip, and social media chatter. I am far more concerned about my English and literature classes, my frosh basketball team, and our kids.
Coach Wilford Tremby fortunately or unfortunately made the feature section of the main Denver newspaper on Sunday.
The 2 QB scheme has caught quite the interest – with some of the plays being shown on national sports broadcasts.
